Mission, Vision and Values
MISSION
Our mission is to make Jesus known by making disciples, developing leaders and multiplying churches.
"The Son of Man has come to seek and save that which is lost." (Luke 19:10)
VISION
Our vision is to Seek, Teach, Mend, and Send.
Seek - The Lost
Teach - The Hungry
Mend - The Broken
Send - The Ready
VALUES
FREEDOM: We are a people in pursuit of wholeness and healing and bringers of God’s freedom to others. (John 8:36)
SURRENDER: As we honor God, His Word and those He has placed in authority over us, we receive his direction and purpose for our lives. (Luke 22:42)
PRESENCE: We desire presence of the Holy Spirit in our midst. We embrace the fullness of His gifts and His leading and we choose to be fully present with each other in community. (1 Cor 12:4-7)
TRUTH: We are a people who are serious about God’s Word, allowing it to bring conviction in our lives and have full authority in our actions.
HUMILITY: We regard one another as more important than ourselves, choosing to elevate & serve those around us. (Philippians 2:3-4)
GENEROSITY: We cheerfully give of our resources to bless others in the mission of God’s Kingdom; practicing hospitality and giving generously of ourselves and our time. (2 Cor 9:7-8)
GRACE: We are honest about our own failings and weaknesses and willingly extend compassion & grace to others in theirs. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
MISSIONAL VALUES
We embody these values by embracing the following 'missional values' — ways in which we seek practically to live out the mission and vision of Foundations Church by:
I. MAKING DISCIPLES: Raising up fully-devoted followers of Jesus Christ in Williamsburg who are mentored and equipped to become life-long disciple-makers.
II. TOUCHING AMERICA: Being a prophetic voice to the nation through persistent prayer, advocacy, cultural engagement and intentional church planting.
III. REACHING THE NATIONS: Training Great Commission Christians who have a heart for the nations, an understanding of the modern-day restoration of the nation of Israel and a passion to stand with the persecuted Church worldwide.

BELIEFS
We hold the Bible as the foundation of faith and practice and subscribe to the core beliefs & official statements of Open Bible Churches with whom we are affiliated. In addition to affirming the historic creeds of the Church, all active members of Foundations Church affirm:
I. The Bible is God's unique revelation to people. It is the inspired, inerrant Word of God providing an authoritative and trustworthy rule of faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
II. There is only one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son & Holy Spirit (Revelation 1:8; Isaiah 43:10-11; Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19).
III. Jesus Christ is God's son, born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, willingly took upon Himself all of our sins, died and rose again bodily and is at the right hand of the Father. He will return to consummate history to judge the world in righteousness (Luke 1:31, 35; 1 Corinthians 15:3; 2 Corinthians 5:21).
IV. All people are created in God's image, distinctly crafted as male and female, having an innate value and dignity but alienated from God by sin and justly subject to God's wrath (Genesis 1:26-27; Genesis 5:1-2).
V. Salvation cannot be earned through personal goodness or human effort. It is a gift that must be received by humble repentance and faith in Christ and His finished work on the cross (Romans 3:23).
VI. The indwelling presence and transforming power of the Holy Spirit, who gives to all believers a new life and a new calling to obedient service (John 14: 16-17).
VII. All believers are members of the Body of Christ, the one true church universal (Ephesians 4:15-16).
Our mission is to make Jesus known by making disciples, developing leaders and multiplying churches.
