Heiser People often wonder, “What does God really want from me?” In the book What Does God Want?, Michael Heiser explains that God’s desire is simple: He wants a family. God created us to know Him, love Him, and live with Him forever, but humanity rebelled and sin fractured that relationship. Instead of abandoning us, God began a rescue plan centered on Jesus, whose life, death, and resurrection restore what was lost. Trusting Jesus brings forgiveness, identity, and adoption into God’s family, not because we earn it, but because of grace. Following Him is about loyalty, love, and growth, not perfection or empty religion. In the end, God’s goal is to renew creation and live forever with His people, healing what is broken and restoring what was lost.
